I am liking the game quite a bit overall but it has a couple big issues and a whole slew of minor issues.

the pacing of the game is just soooooo slow to me.

and just once instead of continuously doing tedious police work, i want to wander the streets of LA by myself and kill an innocent bystander. is that to much to ask for??

I agree that the pacing is a bit off at times. I enjoy most of the police work but the interrogation/questioning people is really hit and miss with me. There was an instance where the same person made the same exact facial expressions after asking two different questions and the correct response for the first was truth and the correct for the second was doubt. It is pretty much all over the place when it comes to reading a suspect/witness.

Aside from that, I think the biggest problem with the game is that it has a very linear story and a specific narrative that it wants to tell but it is set in an open world so is it starts to feel extremely fake after a while. I think Red Dead Redemption suffered greatly from this as well. It gets to a point where you hear a random fucking person say "thats the cop that was in the newspaper" about a hundred times and it makes me want to rip their fucking head off.

And I was all ready to completely take a beating for all the doubt I was throwing at this game...

So is this a standard Rockstar game where you should wait 2 months and pick it up for $25?

Indeed all the GTA's dropped in price like flys, but Red Dead wont go down. I think that's because it didn't sell stupid amounts of copies like GTA4 did. I suspect LA Noire will do even less.

So I probably wouldn't hold out  quite as much.

i imagine there will be used copies at your local gamestore pretty soon from people blindly buying it thinking its a GTA game

the game just moves real slow, and you arent running around shooting people or anything like that. instead you go to a crime scene, wander around the dumpsters/alleys looking for clues, search the dead body for clues, then you talk to witnesses and figure out if they are lying to you or not by facial tics and speech inflections (and like rich said, this part is so random). then you got to put it all together and solve the crime

personally its not really my cup of tea, but i could see how some people would like it.

if you want a mobster game where you are shaking down cigarette trucks, extorting businesses and paying off crooked cops,  the game you want to play is mafia II

I liked this game better when it was called Police Quest.

So..... if the detective were to shout out "Objection" and bang his hands on a table, would these parts be very reminiscient of Phoenix Wright?

My Cousin Vinny and Police Quest are the shit, eh.
