We are creeping up on November and have already seen the release of the first wave of big games released this holiday season with Rage, Dark Souls, and Batman Arkham City. Now we are on the crux of the Battlefield 3 launch in two days and things are about to get hairy for our wallets. I'll tell you this much, This is not the season to be light on cash and time. So many games out there I would love to play, but only so few I'll be able to get to. As a fan, this realization makes me rather sad. There is always hope during the slow period of game development (Fall) to go back and play through what will be missed. I'm just going to leave a list of games coming out over these next two months that by all accounts need some attention, some already have it, others aren't getting as much as they likely deserve due to the condensed concentration of awesome surrounding this latter part of the year.

Kirby 's Return to Dreamland - October 24th, 2011
Battlefield 3 - October 25th, 2011
Goldeneye 007:Reloaded - November 1st, 2011
Sonic Generations - November 1st, 2011 (No seriously, look at it. It is the first good looking Sonic game in years. It is 2D and fast as hell dammit!)
Uncharted 3 - November 1st, 2011
Call of Duty: MW3 - November 8th, 2011
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection - November 8th, 2011 (Three of the greatest games released will be buried by COD. I weep a little.)
The Elder Scrolls V:Skyrim - November 11th, 2011
Assassins Creed: Revelations - November 15th, 2011
Jurassic Park: The Game - November 15th, 2011 (Telltale games makes a classic adventure title for the Jurassic Park Game. Looks solid.)
Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom - November 15th, 2011 (Can't believe I forgot about this game)
Rayman Origins - November 15th, 2011 (I loved the original 2D Rayman games, and this is a return to that. This will be a return to awesome 2D platforming in a major title. I'm rather excited for this, the rest of the world... not so much)
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary - November 15th, 2011 (This is now a full release rather then an arcade release? WTF!? $39.99 though, I'm still in)
Saints Row: The Third - November 15th, 2011 (What is up with this day? It's going to be the battle of AA titles over AAA titles. My money is on Assassins Creed. Not literally, I'm probably going to pick up Saints Row or Rayman personally, just on AC outselling the other six.)
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - November 20th, 2011
Serious Sam 3:BFE - November 22, 2011 (I hadn't even heard about this game tell today. The first two were outstandingly badass!)
WWE' 12 - November 22, 2011

So, that's that. This is all the games coming out this holiday season, that on their own merit are fantastic games. I feel that a few are being released at a time that they will be overlooked since so many will be spending all they have on the AAA titles. So, I pose a question in all of this, what games are you looking forward to? What games will you be purchasing immediately, and are there any you will likely come back to during the gaming slump later in 2012?

Looking forward to BF3, Sonic, and Skyrim the most, probably. But it's definitely a good way to send off the year in gaming.

I'm actually wondering now if something like this could be edited into an article...

Sure it could! "Going out with a bang - What to look forward to as the year ends" Or something, get some hype going for upcoming titles, ect.  Cheesy

I'll get to work on it, but actually. The idea i have in mind is a bit of a spin. Many publications are giving their time and effort to the AAA titles on that list, I want to do something for the titles I fear are going to be overlooked.

"Games That May Be Overlooked This Holiday Season That Deserve Your Attention."

Or something like that. The idea is there, and I pretty much have it written out in my head. Doom article, then this. Should be out to you in a few days.

The article should be titled "NEVER MIND THAT SHIT, HERE COMES DARK SOULS."

And then should consist of nothing but animated gifs of people wailing on guitars.

You sir have wrapped yourself into that game something serious. I need to get back on it, stopped playing at the Duke Archives once I recieved Arkham City. Just beat that game and every side mission but riddler. Now we just brought Battlefield 3 into the house. Two copies of that so me and my roommate can play together...

Dark Souls must see defeat before Skyrim.

Dark Souls is forever.  Skyrim is for $20 in 3 months time as the DLC starts rolling.

Oh Bethesda, I've grown wise to your games.

I am very impatient... It keeps me from playing it smart with Bethesda's games.

I fell through one too many invisible geometry holes to buy those games day one.  I'm sure it will be incredible, but I'm sure it will be twice as incredible after a few patches.
