Best podcast yet. I was choking back the laughter at work and people around me were staring at me.

I don't remember 8 really....I think this one was raunchier though. Hearing about what Cory would eat out of who's ass made my day.

Hahah, well have you seen her!

And Episode 8 was the 3 hour marathon podcast where Rich, Josh, and I got STUPID DRUNK and Josh interviews Rich about his exploits on Alpha Centauri. I barely remember it, but I believe it was the first time Rich announced his undying love for Jake Gyllenhaal.

I don't know why I always pair them together in my head, but I always get Scarlett Johansson and Kiera Knightley mixed up, and as a result, I always compare them to each other in terms of who is more worthy of all the nasty things to do. For me Kiera Knightley > Scarlett Johansson.....bring on the cottage cheese....

I find it interesting (and a little disturbing) that on my recent slew of trips, I've somehow missed you guys by not catching the podcast right away when it shows up. Huh.

  • Red Steel 1 only sold better than 2 because it was a launch title and was one of the few choices for people who wanted more than Wii Sports and Twilight Princess in the months following launch.
  • Kick-Ass was fantastic! I was a little put off but a less realistic aspect of the latter scenes but overall it was amazing.
  • Lugia did help sell Soul Silver, but one could argue it has a little to do with America's dwindling affinity for gold in general. It's gaudy.
  • WTF @ Pretzel M&Ms! That sounds redonkulous. I must have them. Oh, and if Snickers Almond is truly going away, there will be blood.
  • Molly - I know you hear this a lot, but your wavering lil voice on podcasts is adorable. Ugh.
  • Cory is right that game demos are intrinsically the same as movie trailers (or at least "watch the first six minutes of" teases). Demos sell games, not demos. No one will buy them. Sony's degradable demo idea is terrible. All you have to do is have them expire a couple of weeks after the game comes out. That way you build hype and a sense of urgency around the time they want you to buy games the most.
  • Perler and Hama rules. Kickless made me a megaman-style Vega. I wanna get into it but I fear I'd make lit'rally infinity sprites.
  • Prinny on PSP was pretty awesome. I played the bejesus out of it and got the DLCs. I'm glad they're localizing the second one.
  • Sledgehammer death over Atari ET made me lol on the plane. Cheesy I miss Atari 007 though. That game was tits.
  • Molly - Move out. Seriously. It's super effective! Oh, and P.S., I have the spoiler shirt too. I love how people can't look away while groaning about how they didn't want to know that.
  • "I love fucking semicolons, they're the best." Being a member of the grammatical national socialist party, I approve of this statement.
  • Final Fight Round Ten? Wow.
  • Gamestop is the new dry cleaners for drug distribution, orrrr narcotics serve as the new preorder bonus for Madden.
  • I'm surprised anyone would want to play as No Doubt or Kurt Cobain when playing songs by other artists. They aren't cover bands. This should be a no-brainer fix.
  • Haha.. I totally missed the Metallica vs Netscape battle from back in the day.
  • Nighttime Animal Crossing music is where it's at. I have the 234 track game rip in iTunes. KK Slider puts asses in the seats.
  • Rich - If you enjoy the luxury of automatic doors, you may want to read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bart_Sells_His_Soul
  • Dude.. U900.
  • Hey, lay off the GameWorks bashing. Sega was trying to keep the arcade alive, and even if I only stayed in the fighting section, it was still cool to walk through an arcade to get there.
  • G4 sucks.
  • EA went from a company I boycotted to a company I look forward to hearing about. However it happened, it should be published.
  • Golgobits Nanny-Cams. Patent Pending!
  • Cory - <3 for talking about the Ebert article. I won't get too much into it, but I'll tell you why games are art using simple logic. If we rely on our country's definition of most things as the definition we abide by, then when the National Endowment for the Arts gave grants to Robert Mapplethorpe to do a full art show of him being rectally penetrated by a bullwhip handle, and then gave Annie Sprinkle a grant to masturbate on stage for a three-month run of nightly shows, they chose to lit'rally define art as anything a person can do in front of anyone else. Therefore, playing games is art. Watching games being played is art. Developing games is art. Saying "games" is art. Games are art, and much more a legitimate art than our country has bestowed the title of "art" to on numerous occasions. Period.
  • Dr Octoroc's perler creations blow my mind. If you haven't seen them, check them out. (Especially the 3D sprites)
  • I wanna see Apple Britter's art. She's an interesting topping.. well, for a video gamer.  Grin
  • Jesus with susej FTW.
  • Rich - You wish you knew how to quit him. He could have at least sent you a thumb glove so you don't get blisters when rubbing one out.
  • Custer's Revenge is like Montezuma's Revenge for your front-butt.
  • Rich - Nova is the shit. You go girl. <3 Neil deGrasse Tyson is awesome! I love his book on Pluto's declassification. Be sure to check out Phil Plait's Bad Astronomy blog!
  • Molly - I have the same issues reading that you described, however now I catch myself having visual memories of things I read. Have you run into that at all? I have to catch myself when trying to look up scenes on youtube that only exist in my imagination.
  • I missed cursive in school, so yeah sometimes changing schools at the wrong time can suck. However not knowing what the Revolutionary War is when you're a junior in high school is pretty bad.
  • Cuisine for the rest of your life.. Japanese. Rice, udon, yakisoba, saki + beer, sushi, fish, kobe beef, tiger shrimp.. yeah I think I could do that and live long doing it.
  • Man-whoring can be exhausting and most women are terrible in bed, so maybe love might be fun to try someday.
  • "Lit'rally.. elevator to hell."

Edit: Canabalt got a nice shout out as music to idolize in the "Music for Apps" session today at the Voices That Matter iPhone Dev Conference! Cheesy

Sorry for not rolling my thread into this one. I started it on the plane on Friday and didn't get a chance to post until Sunday. Although in all fairness, the other should have been merged into mine..  Tongue

This looks like fun.
  • While describing Dr. Horrible's Sing-along blog, you neglected to mention Felicia Day (and Simon Helberg as Moist, for that matter).
  • I think I heard somebody mention that Mario Parties 3 and 4 were for N64.  To the contrary, Mario Party 4 is on the GameCube.
  • Rich can't sell his soul to two parties.  While it was clever/creative to suggest issuing ownership out like stock, the transaction for one (1) soul for a pez candy implies complete ownership (unless specified otherwise).  Selling your soul in a second transaction is fraud..... UNLESS said Pez (Pez is capitalized, right?) was not transferred within a reasonable time frame ("reasonable" since no time frame was specified), in which case, the contract could be undone in order to return both parties to their original state.
Using the argument that your soul is worth nothing voids the contract.  In order for a contract to be valid, there needs to be consideration from both parties; or, rather, both parties need to relinquish something.  ....That may just be true in Canada.
  • Before today, I would have told you that I enjoyed Rocko's Modern Life when I was a young lad.  Strangely enough, now that you have inspired me to think about it.... I don't remember a single episode.  Just the theme song, and the "don't even think about parking here" gag.  Damn.

Are there other reviews of the podcasts? Cause this was really kind of fun to read the random topics we hit that night.
